POWERTECH HONDA GX50 POST DRIVER (PPD-120) - AKA 'THE HULK'
The Powertech Honda GX50 Post Driver 120 is 'THE HULK' of fence post-drivers, and photos don't do it justice. Designed for the commercial fencing market the PPD-120 is the largest of the Powertech Post Driver range and is a serious piece of kit. Capable of driving small wooden stakes and star pickets right through to larger 100NB steel strainer posts and wooden pine posts.
Tried and tested in Australian conditions for over 6 years now we have fencing contractors that have driven in hundreds of 100NB steel strainers with one unit, and because of it's capabilities and reliability over a sustained period its earnt its nickname 'THE HULK' for good reason.
The Honda GX50 4-Stroke engine and larger driver internals gives the PPD-120 its supreme punching power and reliability. This is the largest single person hand-held unit on the market and weighing in at 24kg it amazes fencing contractors around Australia with what its capable of driving. Engineered with an oil and grease lubricated gearbox and piston housing this unit is build to last and requires minimal maintenance.
The kit includes 5 different post sleeves and inserts to help cover the large variety of fence posts on the market today. PurchasedI the Post driver PPD-120, what a machine never misses a beat. Powertech machinery is high quality the time the machine saves you per job is well worth the price, and you never have to worry about the motor starting it’s a Honda. Adaptors are top quality. I was so impressed i just purchased the PPD-80 as a second machine for the young boys to use a bit lighter for star pickets. I had ordered the 120 post driver after doing months of research on the most efficient way that wouldn’t break the bank for my fencing project on my farm. This postdriver is an absolute beast!
After been let down by an ebay special 2 stroke toy that could barely put a picket into sand, wasting my time and money I needed a driver that would work. And this big thumper just drives and drives pickets in where they are needed. Over a span of 1km of dry, hard almost concrete like clay/gravel/rock it just kept thumping star pickets and maxys in that I couldn’t even get started by hand. I wouldn’t even think about fencing without having this in the toolbox now.
This unit has an extremely quiet engine, barely audible with earplugs in and just keeps purring along and beating posts in like nothing else.
If you are in the market for a postdriver, this is the one. After sales support and knowledge from Jaime is also fantastic answering any of my questions I’ve had about usage and maintenance.

With the ground like concrete here I had some doubts about whether or not this unit would cope with driving in Waratah Ezy-Slot Strainer posts. Gal. Angle: 75mm x 75mm x 6mm https://www.waratahfencing.com.au/products/posts/strainer-assemblies/ezyslot-strainer-post/
With no pilot holes, just hope and persistence this driver has eaten the job, with relevant ease. Amazed me.
I’ve had discussions with Jamie about an adaptor to make it easier to drive the right angled profile, so I will have this manufactured for myself future use.

Got this driver to install fencing on my property, i am extremely happy with the quality and the performance. I have soft top soil then into some coffee rock/clay type soil, i put a pilot hole in to 500mm and this driver has no issues putting a 100mm pine post down to 1.2mtr. It is balanced well easy to use and maintain.

This driver is one of the best machines I have used, it is a lot quicker than an air driver and also drives just as quick as the 100cc petrol ones, the bonus with this one is that you can operate it on your own and you don’t need any machinery to lift it onto posts and cart it around.The customer service from power tech was very professional and helpful, I would highly recommend power tech and there team for good quality gear and helpful/ polite customer service.
